First Baptist Church

Hanging in the hall of this longstanding place of worship is a brief description of its humble beginning. Since its formation on June 22, 1883, First Baptist Church of Bandera has welcomed the community with open arms, as well as from the same city block it resides on today.

Pastor Chris Mclain describes FBC Bandera as "a truly multi-generational church" offering services and activities to individuals of all ages. Each week an average of 150-175 people find their church home inside the walls of FBC Bandera. The current sanctuary where Sunday morning services take place, expands out to wings of Sunday school rooms and meeting rooms. A fellowship hall is downstairs and hosts many events such as baby showers and exercise classes.

Newly hired Family Pastor Tommy Derrick oversees at least 5 adult Sunday school classes and that same number of children's classes. In addition to new staff members, FBC Bandera expanded their services to offer live streaming on Sunday mornings.

Consequently, as they grow, they continue to discuss new ways to fulfill the needs of those in the community.

With a heart for people from "all walks of life", Pastor Mclain and FBC Bandera invite all Bandera residents and visitors to come on in and have a seat!
